Artist's Comments

This is my most recent work that I've done in my digital art class. I've always wanted to design a coat of arms for my family and I finally did it. I actually did quite a bit of research for this design. I probably spent more time researching than I did actually designing it. I'll break down the meaning for those who are interested:

The Wheel: represents "Fortune; cycle of life."

The Dragons: traditionally dragons represent a "Valiant defender of treasure; valor and protection." I kind of took it a step further to represent my families love of fantasy and human creativity.

The Red Cross: represents both my Anglo Saxon ancestry and my Christian upbringing.

The Crescent: represents "Hope of a greater glory."

The Cross Moline: represents my families' "Mutual converse of the human society."

The Barry Waves: represent the "troubles that keep us in continuous exercise."

St. Andrew's Cross: represents my families' "Resolution."

The motto below is in Spanish to represent my Mexican heritage which translates:

"Question Everything. Learn Something. Answer Nothing."

Designed with:

AI CS3 and PS CS3

Enjoy!

This is awesome, Matt. My favourite part is the quote below, but I also love the texture and colours. A lot of thought went into this, and I can tell a lot of work as well. Verry niiice.
